Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Are you fully insured?

A: Yes, I possess a certificate for public liability insurance up to £1 000 000, personal accident which covers myself.  I also have equipment cover which includes any hire costs so I know I will never be without a camera! You will find that every professional will have insurance as it is very important in our line of work- just incase! I also give my clients a contract which supports indemnity.

Q: What equipment do you use?

A: I am a Canon guy, I personally believe the specification of the cameras and optics are fantastic. With any job I will always have on me my trusted Canon 5D Mark II along with a minimum of 3 lenses. For a typical wedding I will carry a wide angle lens, zoom lens and a prime lens. They all have there uses ranging from group/scenic shots to, where required, long distance to ensure a clients personal space has not been invaded. I also have 2 flash guns for additional light and a minimum of 6 reliable memory cards. For portrait sessions I use a portable studio which encompasses 2 lights complete with black or white back drop. I also carry a second Canon camera used as a backup.

Q: Do you have any qualifications in photography?

A:  I studied 2 academic years of digital photography learning extensively about capturing correct images and exposure along with work on the correct use of lighting and Photoshop editing suite . It is an art for which I have a true passion when it comes to ensuring my images are perfect. Some people do possess an eye for photography but you are always one step ahead when you have qualifications alongside a natural ability.

Q: Do you have another job?

A: No, my full time occupation is a professional photographer therefore all of my attention goes on ensuring my clients are happy and that they come first. This gives a smooth and quick turn around when it comes to editing clients photographs and designing wedding albums. It also means that my response time to phone calls and emails is as quick as possible.

Q: Are there any hidden costs?

A: Absolutely not, what you see is what you get. All information regarding any of my services is presented on my website along with the cost. All costs are inclusive of VAT. If you require any custom packages this can be arranged as well as additional products which can be added onto any package.

Q: How do we go about booking you?

A: Simply contact me by phone, email or a Facebook message with your interest. For anything other than a wedding booking it can be discussed via message or a phone call. For weddings, such a big event takes care and consideration and with this in mind I generally organise a no obligation meeting with the couple which gives them the chance to view my albums and portfolio. These consultations are free and you will not at any point feel obligated to go ahead with the booking there and then.

Q: Have you photographed my wedding venue before?

A: I have been photographing weddings for several years throughout the North West.  Every now and again I will have the opportunity to venture further afield but most of my bookings are local.  As such I have photographed at many North West venues and look forward to photographing at many more!

Q: How long does it take to receive our photos and how many should we expect?

A: After a portrait session you should generally expect your photos after 3-4 weeks and if you have booked our standard portrait package you will receive 15+ fully edited photographs on a disc.  After a wedding you should expect your photos no later than 12 weeks. Generally, Silver package clients receive 150+ fully edited photos with Gold and Platinum package clients receiving 250+ fully edited photos (not inc pre wedding shoots) on a USB.

Q: How do you deal with low light and/or bad weather at a wedding?

A: Professional equipment is a key factor in dealing with poor lighting.  Having the knowledge and experience when situations arise help me to make sure that it does not affect yours, your guests day or the overall outcome. The English weather can be temperamental, but with the right preparation and know how photos inside your venue can be just as beautiful. On the other hand you may have booked a stunning venue which is naturally quite dark inside such as a castle. Again, equipment and professional expertise will make sure that no area of the venue is off limits because of poor lighting.    

Q: Do I get to pick the photos that go in my wedding album?

A: Yes of course! Its your album and so you can have as little or as much control over the photos and layout as you choose.
