I had the pleasure of being invited to document the big day of this lovely couple after a recommendation from Michael and Laura who's wedding I photographed back in 2014. I was very excited to head over to Liverpool for this one!
The day all started off at their home address in Knowsley, Liverpool where I documented
the build up of the girls getting ready. The hair stylist and make-
As I arrived at St. Chad’s Church in Knowsley I quickly found somewhere to park and headed inside to prep my camera gear ready for the ceremony. Brian was giving out the order of service along with his best man and ushers. Guests were excited and in good spirits as they walked through the doors!
I headed outside to reserve my spot for the arrival of the bride and her father. As they pulled up I quickly got a shot of them together in the stunning classic car they hired for their trip from home to the church. The bridal party made their way to the entrance and got themselves in the correct order of march.
The service was lovely with some great readings spoken by selected guests. They exchanged loving words to each other before placing rings on fingers and signing the register to make it official. They had prayers at the front of the church before turning around to prepare for the long walk back down the aisle as husband and wife. I organised all of the guests around the Lychgate ready for the confetti shot and after a couple of family formal photographs beforehand inside the church, the newly weds then walked through a channel of eagerly awaited guests who couldn’t wait to celebrate the moment by showering them with confetti.
As we arrived at the reception venue which was the stunning Suites Hotel and Spa in Knowsley we gathered at the entrance for the remaining formal group photos. I then headed inside to check out the wedding breakfast room and document all of the room’s gorgeous decorations. The happy couple walked into the room smiling and holding hands as their family and friends cheered and clapped before taking their seats ready for the meal and speeches. The speeches were fab and provided a couple of funny and emotional moments of which I loved documenting, especially capturing the candid shots of guests reactions as I walked around the room.
As the day progressed into the evening the weather was still unpredictable and I anxiously waited for a quick respite in the rain so Brian and Kimberley could have some intimate shots of them together outside and around the grounds. We managed with a good 10 minutes worth and it was so worth it as I captured some beautiful shots of them both!
I gathered my kit and setup ready for the first dance which came so quickly. It was a great moment for them with guests watching with love.
