I met with Derek and Rebecca to discuss their big day which included where the wedding ceremony and reception was to be held. Ashfield House in Standish, Wigan was to be the location of choice for the couple. They were telling me they were going with a vintage theme for the day along with fayre games to keep the guests entertained.
The day arrived and I headed up the road to the stunning manor house to document the bridal preparations before the ceremony began. I entered the bridal suite to see the ladies in full flow of getting ready and enjoying some bubbly together.
Half an hour before the ceremony I headed downstairs to meet and greet Derek and the groomsmen whilst capturing some shots of guests arriving. Rebecca soon made her glamorous appearance with her dad. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and after the new Mr & Mrs walked back down the aisle we all headed outside to quickly get a confetti shot before heavy rain set in for the afternoon.
Group shots were taken on the grand stairway giving me enough space to fit everyone in. Guests were coming up to me afterwards curiously asking “You never really got everyone in on that large group shot did you?” I was glad to show them the photo to which they were surprised and offered kind words.
I got some shots of the room and décor along with the afternoons selection of cakes and sandwiches which was something different compared to a 3 course sit down meal. There were 3 great speeches and straight afterwards we headed outside for some intimate shots of the happy couple. The weather brightened up later on offering us some time to get outside but I couldn’t resist get a further few shots inside on the stairway.
It was a perfect day and I hope Derek and Rebecca had an absolute blast!
