Beth contacted me regarding her wedding photography requirements and asked if I could head round to their home (which turned out to be the next street along from me) to discuss what they had in mind. We scheduled in a date and I was so happy to meet them and run through the details of the day. After an hour or so they were made up with everything and booked me for their wedding.
As an older couple they wanted to keep the occasion very intimate with immediate family and a select group of friends. The venue was Macdonald Kilhey Court Hotel in Standish, Wigan which is up the road from myself. I have documented this iconic venue quite often and I always enjoy the backdrops on offer.
The day started with a few shots of guests arriving and enjoying a drink or two before heading over to the ‘Victorian Garden Suite’ for the ceremony. Kevin was ready for the arrival of the bride with her son who was to give her away. I got a couple of quick photos of Beth and her son together before they entered the room.
The ceremony itself was beautiful and straight afterwards we got on with the group
photos inside as it was a little chilly outside :-
Before I headed off I captured a few shots of the wedding breakfast room set up and posed the newly weds for a mock cutting of the cake. It saves them missing out on a professional photograph before the do the real thing later on.
I left everyone enjoying the afternoon :-
