Mark and Kate booked me after a recommendation from a couple I photographed back in 2013 at Haigh Hall. I met with them both at their soon to be wedding venue which was Knowsley Hall for their pre-wedding shoot and consultation. The grounds are breathtaking and as soon as I stepped into the building itself I couldn’t resist having a good look around for potential photographic opportunity. We also went through the runnings of the day whilst discussing timings and group shots etc.

The day soon arrived and I met with Kate and the Bridal party early in the morning at the venue to document all the little details as I usually do and the girls getting ready. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of smiles and laughter.

Mark and the boys arrived in style around 45 minutes before the ceremony started. A VW Camper van was the transport of choice which kindly stayed until after the ceremony finished. As Mark and his best man Anthony headed inside to fix button holes and sit guests, Kate headed downstairs to meet with the bridle party who was eagerly waiting and her great uncle who was to give her away.

The ceremony was beautiful which included a lovely reading and a couple of funny faces from the groom :-) After signing of the register they headed down the aisle as Mr & Mrs Turner and headed outside for some group shots. The weather was perfect offering plenty of sunshine which meant guests could enjoy themselves out on the terrace.

Everyone soon headed inside to the wedding suite for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The theme of the day was a festival one which included table centre pieces named after popular music festivals and lots of stunningly colourful flowers.

Afterwards me, Mark and Kate went outside as the sun was low offering a warm glow. I could have spent many hours wondering around getting shots of them both as they were so natural in front of the camera. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time and I didn’t want the couple away from their guests and more importantly the party for too long.

After the cutting of the cake and a wonderful first dance I left the happy couple to it. I hope they had a truly memorable day and I look forward to speaking with them both soon :-)
