I met with Michael and Sarah at the Mercure oak hotel in Wigan to have a coffee and a lovely chat about their upcoming wedding day. They looked through my portfolio and wedding album storybooks to get a better idea of what my packages offered and understand my specific style of photography. Soon afterwards it was a real pleasure to be asked if I would be their wedding photographer, I couldn’t wait!
On the day I was so excited and soon headed up to Mitton Hall Hotel, Whalley nice and early to start the day documenting the bridal preparations. Everyone was in very high spirits as I walked into the preparation suite and started with the little details which I always capture.
Michael and the boys arrived with plenty of time before proceedings began to get themselves dressed and ready too. After slight adjustments to the tie and a generous spray of aftershave it was time to head downstairs to greet guests and have a swift drink.
The ceremony soon arrived, Sarah and her father braced themselves after a quick chat with the registrars who confirmed all the details they needed. I got a couple of lovely shots of them walking and talking as they headed outside towards the bridal party.
The ceremony was beautiful with plenty of smiles and laughter all around. As always I documented the whole occasion discreetly which included the formal signing of the register before they made their way outside for the confetti and group shots. Even though it was a gorgeous sunny and clear day I still had to take into account that we would lose the light early and so I decided to keep the couple outside for a couple of personal shots of them both together.
Before and during the wedding breakfast their was great entertainment by a wedding singer who offered some classics and even got the whole wedding party involved. There were 3 brilliant speeches and a lovely sentiment in the form of a cake as it was Michael’s Nan’s Birthday.
After a couple more photographs with the happy couple I left the party to develop
and captured some really fun shots of everyone enjoying themselves. I hope it was
everything Michael and Sarah wanted and I hope it has left them with lasting memories
