At the end of May I had the pleasure of documenting Sam and Jennifer’s wedding day. I couldn’t believe how quick it all came around after meeting with them initially to discuss their photography requirements. After seeing them and confirming the booking I knew that it was going to be a fun one!

I arrived at Rivington Church near Horwich, Bolton where I greeted Sam and the groomsmen. He was full of smiles and looking the part. Jennifer soon arrived with her Dad in a vintage Volkswagen Camper Van looking beautiful in her wedding dress. The ceremony was lovely and enjoyed by all who was witnessing them tie the knot. Afterwards I headed outside to get everyone set up near the Lychgate which is at the entrance of the church’s grounds. This was to be the backdrop for the confetti shot having the couple walk through a channel of their eagerly awaiting guests.

We soon headed off to the reception venue which was Haigh Hall, Wigan. There we did the formal group shots and even managed to head up to the children’s play area where Sam and Jennifer both wanted to slide down together hand in hand. I was happily in favour of them doing this, of course :-) and got some cracking shots.

The afternoon offered some great speeches which came after the wedding breakfast. The two best men agreed that one was to organise the stag do and the other was to read the speech, I know what I would have preferred to do!

The gardens were part of the setting for the more intimate shots of the couple as we headed off before having to return for the cutting of the cake and first dance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I thank Sam and Jennifer for being a great (and willing) couple to photograph. I hope we get to meet again at a future wedding event.
