I had the privilege to be part of Ashley & Christina’s big day yesterday which was so much fun! It all started with a swift 20 minutes of Groomsmen prep and as soon as I walked in I was greeted by half naked, chirpy lads who clearly were in great spirits for the day ahead. It was a good laugh although it was soon time to head over to meet and greet Christina and the Bridal party. I spent most of the morning at Christina’s Mum’s home in Aspull, Wigan documenting the build up and as much as the boys were lively the girls seemed twice as happy as they got themselves ready.
I traveled up the road into Blackrod, Bolton where I was taken aback by the stunning church that is St. Katharine’s Church of England. I met with Carol who was to conduct the ceremony and she was so warming and advised that I was to do whatever I needed to get those all important shots of such a special occasion. Like any wedding it is always a tradition to be fashionably late and Christina certainly kept Ashley looking at his watch 🙂
The ceremony was beautiful which included a couple of lovely readings from guests and lots of smiles and tears as the happy couple exchanged loving words and glances to one another. After the signing of the register was complete they soon headed back up the aisle hand in hand as Husband and Wife. I arranged all of the family and friends outside of the church ready for the confetti throw and then a couple of specific group shots with the church as the backdrop.
We all arrived at the reception venue which was the Best Western’s Park Hall Hotel and Spa, Chorley. A quick 20 minutes of the remaining formal group shots left me with enough time to get a couple of photographs of the wedding breakfast room before the celebrations began. There were 4 great speeches said by Christina’s Uncle and Mother and then by Ashley and his Best man.
With a quick turn around of the room, myself and the newly weds headed to the lake for some more intimate shots of them together. The weather was great and offered us plenty of time to wonder around the grounds, even some resident ducks had a good nosy. It was soon time for that all important first dance and Ed Sheeran helped them with that one. It was beautiful and the guests came onto the dance floor half way through the song to join them.
I had so much fun and before I left I couldn’t help but get one more shot of the new Mr & Mrs Cooper although with some playful cards which they placed on the tables for their family and friends to use. Even a couple of the groomsmen joined in on the fun!
A huge congratulations once again and I hope everyone had a magical day. I also hope Ashley and Christina have a wonderful honeymoon on a cruise to the Mediterranean.
