I first met with Chris and Denika after a recommendation made by James and Theresa Smith who’s wedding day I documented back in 2015. With Denika being a Bridesmaid back then it helped her see first hand how I work. I met her again but this time with her Fiance’ Chris where we discussed their upcoming big day!
So Saturday soon arrived and I had my camera batteries charged eagerly ready to get going with photographing the wedding day of such a lovely couple. I first arrived at their family home where I began documenting Chris and the Groomsmen starting to get ready for the day ahead. After 20 minutes I left them to it and headed over to finish off the preparations with the Bridal party. I turned up at Denika’s Parent’s home in Aspull where the girls were getting their make-up done and drinking fizz. I captured shots of the smaller details including her beautiful wedding dress which was hung up in one of the bed rooms.
I left the girls to finish off getting ready as I left to arrive at the church approximately 30 minutes before the ceremony began. I was greeted by the Groomsmen who were handing out the Order of Service to guests as they started to arrive also. The day was absolutely stunning with temperatures around 27 degrees at midday and blue skies all around.
After the Ushers rounded up the guests from the Pub’s beer garden the girls arrived followed by Denika and her Father. After a little delay they were soon walking down the aisle to begin the most important part of the day. Chris looked to have a tear in his eye as he saw his beautiful Bride walking towards him smiling away with her very proud Father by her side.
The ceremony went smoothly with a couple of readings from the children which was lovely. After rings were exchanged and prayers were had the newly weds went to sign the register along with the Bridal party. Afterwards I got into position ready to snap away as the new Mr & Mrs Denings walked hand-in-hand past their family and friends to the exit. They had one quick kiss before allowing everyone to congratulate them whilst leaving the church. I gathered everyone for a confetti shot which was followed immediately by a Dove release.
A big red bus awaited the wedding guests to take them to the wedding reception which was The Willows Function Suite in Blackrod. After a couple of photos I too headed off and arrived to get those shots of the room all decorated beautifully before cracking on with the formal group photos. Chris and Denika booked a bouncy castle for the kids which seemed to go down a treat keeping them entertained throughout the day.
The speeches soon arrived with Denika’s Father, Chris and Best men all having their moment which included loving stories, thank you’s and hilarious moments. They then enjoyed the wedding breakfast whilst I looked through what I had captured to date.
When things quietened down the happy couple came up to me ready to do the more intimate shots of them together so we walked around the venue looking for those hot spots. With the sun still raging and it being very warm we finished it off early as I could notice that Chris and Denika had enough and were struggling towards the end. They went inside and carried on chatting with their lovely family and friends before the first dance arrived.
There was a surprise in store as Denika planned to have a dance with her Father first which was really nice. Chris then enjoyed his moment with his Wife and with the stage set confetti and smoke filled the air creating wonderful photographs!
I had an absolutely fantastic day documenting it all and I hope Chris and Denika enjoyed every second of it 🙂
For now enjoy these sneak peeks before I upload the remaining photos from their special day in the upcoming weeks.
