Good afternoon everyone! I hope you’re having an awesome weekend whatever you’re doing 🙂
Yesterday I had an amazing day being part of such a lovely couple’s wedding day by photographing it all from start to…well to the first dance. It all began at Gary and Lisa’s home in Abram, Wigan where the girls were having their hair and make-up done. I arrived nice and early and was invited inside to begin the Bridal Preparations whilst being given a bacon butty, what a great start to the day! I captured a short duration of the more natural shots of the girls and then made my way upstairs to photograph the dress, shoes, flowers etc before returning back downstairs for the final part of the morning.
The ceremony was a midday kick off and I was asked by the vicar if I could arrive early to run over what rules she had before proceedings began. So I left the home and driven 300 meters to the church where after 10 minutes of speaking with Anne I went back outside to document guests arriving but also to meet and greet Gary and the Groomsmen. Everyone went inside to take their seats before Lisa and the girls arrived in a stunning light grey Volkswagen Camper Van which the couple had booked from ‘PoshPampaCampa’.
The ceremony went smoothly which included a lovely reading and then after rings were exchanged and hymns were sung the newly weds signed the register witnessed by their Parents, Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. They then made their way back down the aisle as Husband and Wife smiling away to their family and friends. I arranged everyone around the doors for the confetti photo which is always a great way to celebrate such a moment.
With guests making their way to the reception venue I spoke with Dave (the driver of the VW Camper Van) to organise the route which I had briefly spoken with Lisa prior to the day as I thought it would be a great opportunity to capture a few photos of Gary and Lisa with their wedding transportation in all it’s glory. So along the route we stopped off getting some posed shots of them with stunning scenery in the background.
We finally turned up at Lancashire Manor Hotel in Pimbo which was to be the venue for the afternoons and evenings celebrations. Before we cracked on with the formal group shots the happy couple sat down to have themselves drawn by a professional Caricaturist with a young lad singing away in the background whilst playing some great tunes on his acoustic guitar.
I managed to get some shots of the wedding breakfast room before celebrations commenced. Guests were invited inside to take their seats before they all then howled and clapped as the new Mr & Mrs Morris were officially announced into the room. The speeches were done before the meal which were read out by Lisa’s Father, Gary and finally the Best Man.
Afterwards the guests were met by Jason of ‘Jason Rea Magic’. He did his magic…(excuse the pun) as he entertained everyone leaving blank faces on many including myself. There was also a photobooth and Matthew was the DJ for the evening.
Myself and the happy couple managed to squeeze in a couple of the more intimate shots of them together around the grounds of the venue before they headed back inside and onto the dance floor for their first dance. Family and Friends gathered around them in a circle with cameras and iPhones in hand capturing such a wonderful moment.
I hope they had such a magical and memorable day but if they need a little help joggin their memory you can find a couple sneak peek shots of their big day below.
Enjoy and I look forward to uploading the remainder of their wedding day soon 🙂
