This was to be my penultimate wedding of August and what a busy month it has been. Then again I wouldn’t have it any other way! Jamie and Georgina met me at a local wedding fair after they were looking for their preferable venue to hold their wedding reception. It was lovely to chat about their ideas and plans and we met back up to discuss the day in more detail.
They both enjoyed a mini pre-wedding shoot around the 6 week point before their wedding and they were delighted to have an 18″x 12″ print from that shoot mounted for guests to sign when their big day arrived . We headed up to Haigh Hall along with their two children, Amelia and Alfie. They all enjoyed themselves and they even had time to have a little fun on the newly built play area.
The wedding day soon arrived and I made my way to Georgina for the bridal preparations. I arrived at her home and I was soon straight into it all with having the make-up artists and hair stylists doing what they do best. The dresses, shoes, jewelry, flowers etc was all in one room so I hunted around for the best angles, back drops and lighting for those specific type of shots. It was a fun atmosphere with plenty of smiles and alcoholic beverages on offer. I wanted to make sure that I arrived at the church with plenty of time to meet and greet Jamie so I headed off around 45 minutes before giving myself plenty of ‘worry free’ time to park up and get the shots I want.
Jamie and most of the guests were in the pub next door so it gave me a chance to briefly speak with Father Johnson who was to conduct the ceremony. Everyone started arriving around 20 minutes before proceedings began so I documented all of the build up. Georgina and the bridal party soon made an appearance and swiftly organised themselves ready for the order of march. The flower girls and bridesmaids walked up the aisle together whilst Georgina and her father were at the rear smiling away. The occasion did get to Georgina slightly and you could see she was understandably emotional but as soon as she was near Jamie she quickly got into the spirit of the day. The ceremony was beautiful and as soon as the readings were read and the hymns were sung they were soon exchanging rings and signing the register.
They walked back down the aisle as husband and wife and as soon as they got to the church doors I gathered all of the guests together for the confetti photo. The newly weds then met me at Mesnes park as they were traveling in a couple of classic cars provided by Grace wedding cars of Ashton-in-Makerfield. They arrived for some more intimate shots of them together before they continued the journey to their reception venue. We captured some stunning shots of them together as they soaked up the glorious sunshine and enjoyed walking around the park for a short time. It was then time to meet up again with their family and friends.
We all arrived at the DW Stadium in Wigan and I cracked on with the formal group shots as I like to get them out of the way. Before the wedding guests went upstairs to the reception suite the happy couple had the opportunity to see the room all done up with how they wanted it. It was stunning as it over looked the Wigan Latic’s & Warrior’s pitch. I captured some shots of the table decorations before the guests then entered and sat down ready to receive the new Mr & Mrs Cain. There were 3 heart felt speeches from Georgina’s father, Jamie’s best man and then finally the big man himself, Jamie.
I couldn’t wait to have a little walk around the stadium with Jamie and Georgina to get some photographs of them. The weather was perfect too with blue skies and a beautiful sunset. We got some shots pitch side after the wedding breakfast and before walking around to the marquee for the evening reception to begin. There was a candy car for those with a sweet tooth, there was a photo booth and the resident DJ who was playing some great tunes.
Before too long the first dance arrived and I organised my lights to how I like them. Jamie and Georgina were welcomed onto the dance floor with a huge cheer from their lovely guests. I think they enjoyed a couple of minutes of just them in each other’s arms before they then invited everyone else to join them.
The day was all done and dusted for me but I knew the evening was just getting into full swing. I left after congratulating them once again and ensuring they were happy with everything I had done. They were absolutely made up I was glad to hear 🙂
I can’t wait to start the editing of their wedding day photographs but for now as always you can enjoy a small selection of the sneak peek shots from yesterday.
