Yesterday saw me starting the day in Lowton where I documented the bridal preparations at Amy’s parents home. Firstly I captured the giving and receiving of gifts which offered plenty of tears and smiles from the bridal party. The build up was lovely and I always enjoy capturing the little details. Once I finished up I went approximately 200 meters to the church which was Lowton St. Mary’s Parish Church.
I arrived and met with the eagerly awaiting groom, John whilst documenting guests arriving. Amy’s mother along with 3 bridesmaids soon arrived followed by the beautiful bride herself and her father. The ceremony was witnessed by around 70 of the couple’s lovely family and friends. After exchange of rings and the signing of the register the newly weds soon took their first steps as husband and wife and made their way down the aisle.
We soon made our way to the stunning venue of Ashfield House in Standish, Wigan and after a couple of formal group photos and a confetti shot I left John and Amy to enjoy a little time with their guests before heading inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
I always try and offer every couple as much time with their loving family and friends throughout the day as I know just how important it is. I photograph the more intimate shots of them together later in the day which is sometimes better as the lighting is slightly different.
The day for me was drawing to an end but I still had the first dance to go. Before they strutted their stuff on the dance floor, John had a fantastic surprise for his wife which he had been planning for weeks. He sung Amy a song with the help of his ukulele which stunned onlookers including myself. They eventually came together to begin the evenings festivities and when I was leaving there were many enjoying a little ‘Busted’ which was performed by the very talented JustMatt.
I hope John and Amy had a truly memorable day and I hope they enjoy looking through these couple of sneak peeks…
