Simon & Michelle Wedding

I had the pleasure of being part of this lovely couples wedding day yesterday. I started the afternoon by arriving 45 minutes before the ceremony started at St John the Divine’s Parish Church in Pemberton, Wigan. I got shots of the building itself inside and out whilst documenting guests arriving and watching.

The Bridal party soon arrived and with a couple of photos of Michelle and her Father they were ready to make that short but emotional walk down the aisle. I could tell Simon was holding back from looking around to see his beautiful Bride and he mentioned a little later that day that if he had, he wouldn’t have been able to hold back the tears. The ceremony was lovely with around 60 of their close family and friends witnessing the occasion as they exchanged words, rings and smiles.

After the signing of the register it was time for me to position myself at the end of the Church to get those shots of them walking back down the aisle as Husband and Wife. I arranged everyone either side of the entrance for the confetti photo before we moved onto the formal groups.

Simon and Michelle wanted to have some time in Mesnes Park for some more intimate photographs of them together before we moved onto the reception venue. It was a slightly overcast day which provided good lighting conditions for me. They looked so in love and it was effortless when working for those smiles 🙂

We soon moved onto the Bellingham Hotel and Spa, Wigan where guests were eagerly waiting to greet the new Mr & Mrs Draper. Everyone moved inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches as I retired to a comfy seat to check over what I had captured up to date.

With belly’s full, guests exited the room for a quick turn around whilst I got a couple more shots with the couple around the venue as it was a glorious evening. The time arrived to prep myself ready for the first dance. I organised my gear and got into position as the newly weds walked onto the dance floor.

I had an absolutely fantastic day documenting the wedding and celebrations of this genuinely lovely couple. I can’t wait to begin the editing of the remainder of their photographs but for now please enjoy the sneak peeks…

Thanks 🙂
