I hope you all had a wonderful weekend just gone. I was delighted to be part of Steven and Siobhan’s wedding day on Saturday which took place at the Mercure Oak Hotel in Wigan town center.
Siobhan wished for photographs of the Bridal party getting ready in the morning before proceedings began so I arrived at her Mother’s home in Ashton-in-Makerfield nice and early to capture the build up including photographing the smaller details. The Hair stylist and Make-up artist were hard at work and before I knew it it approached Noon so everyone started to get into their outfits. Siobhan made her way downstairs to show off her beautiful wedding dress to everyone including a special someone who was to give her away that day, her Father!
Taxi’s arrived and that was my queue to head to the venue and get ready for the ceremony to begin.
I arrived with a cravat and a pair of cuff-links in hand to give to one of the Paige boys to complete his suit. I then made my way to the ceremony room where Steven was having a quick chat with the Registrar confirming all the details were correct. All of their family and friends were then invited into the room as Siobhan was very keen to get going arriving 20 minutes early 🙂
The ceremony was lovely and went very smoothly which included vows that the happy couple wanted to say to one another as their promises in marriage. One of the Paige boys then handed over the wedding rings before they exchanged kisses and then onto the signing of the register.
They walked back up the aisle as Husband and Wife before being given a glass of champagne to toast the occasion. As the weather had got better we headed off around the corner to Mesnes Park for the more intimate shots of them together. The park always offers lovely backdrops especially as nobody was around that day! We didn’t stop long as the ground was still drying up and I knew we get a couple later in the day at the Hotel.
We arrived back at the wedding venue to begin the formal group shots. These are what they are although I do try and create a positive and fun atmosphere whilst everyone stands and looks towards the camera…..CHEESE!!!! 😀
The time came for everyone to take up their seats ready for the wedding breakfast. The new Mr & Mrs Wood were cheered and clapped into the room before the Father of the Bride made his speech. Steven soon followed and then the time came for the Best Men to do what every Best man does and digs up dirt on the Groom! To be honest I think the Groom’s Mother helped with this one, Haha!
So after everything had calmed down and food and drinks were devoured all guests left the room so the team at the Oak Hotel could turn the room around ready for the evening celebrations to begin.
The DJ was set up and the room was pristine so it was time for everyone to make their way back inside ready for a party. The kids were entertained all afternoon by a bouncy castle which the newly weds booked specially for them although it didn’t stop Siobhan having her turn on it and even managed to get Steven up for a bounce or two. Siobhan finished off having a moment with her Bridesmaids which made great photographs!
The time came for the official cutting of the cake and then straight into the first dance. They looked like they enjoyed those couple of minutes together soaking up the music and dancing away. Steven got a sneaky swing around in there but it made for great photos 🙂
I hope they enjoyed every second and I can’t wait to get their wedding photographs to them shortly. But as always for the time being please enjoy these sneak peek shots from the day!
